Matt Bresnahan

Senior Communications Executive

Matt loves to create order out of chaos, giving him a keen eye for thoughtful executions of big-picture strategies.

As an account executive with 7+ years of experience in communications, Matt brings a wide variety of experiences – including working at a Washington DC think tank and implementing a multi-million dollar outreach program in Jordan.

Matt takes complex situations and breaks them down into actionable, effective plans, using an in-depth understanding of each client’s unique situation to create holistic communication approaches.

Matt is a passionate explorer. From cooking his way through The Best Recipes in the World to traveling around the world, Matt embodies a healthy balance of curiosity and common sense. This worldview illuminates the possibilities that no one else can see: a trip to Mexico City, a perfect spice to complete a recipe, or a communication strategy that is both effective and original.

Matt’s favorite part about working at Merit?

Hands down it’s the people. Everyone at Merit is so smart, so driven, and so kind!

What is Matt’s favorite Merit value?

No assholes

ain't nobody got time for that. You spend more time with your coworkers than some of your friends, so it's important to surround yourself with people who build you up and support you.

How does Matt define success?

That's something that has to come from within. No one else can define it for you. Chasing other people's definitions of success leads to something worse than "failure:" meaninglessness. Figure out what's important to you—what really has meaning in your life, at your business or on your project— and go get it.

Matt’s life motto:

"Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." (Antoine de Saint-Exupery)
